Profile

Rachel Riding is the Founder of Cohorrt and a passionate advocate for fractional leadership, portfolio careers and independent expertise. She is also a lifelong champion of the people brave enough to start, grow and lead businesses.

After more than 20 years building commercial growth through recruitment, sales, partnerships and leadership roles, Rachel has developed a reputation for connecting the right people, creating meaningful opportunities and helping businesses access expertise they would otherwise struggle to find.

Business success shouldn’t be limited by the expertise on the payroll. Rachel believes business owners should have access to the right experience, insight and leadership exactly when they need it. That’s the philosophy behind Cohorrt.

Rachel brings a good sense of humour, relentless energy and a genuine passion for helping people succeed. It’s helped her build a reputation for exceeding expectations, building trusted relationships and making things happen.

Rachel’s understanding of business extends far beyond her professional career. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, she has spent her life around people who build businesses. Growing up around factories, workshops and ambitious business owners gave her a fascination for how businesses work, who they help and what it takes to grow them.

She has witnessed first-hand the reality of growth, risk, investment, succession and exit. From celebrating the first £10,000 day in a family business, through to £10,000 weeks and eventually £1 million months, Rachel has had a front-row seat to the highs, lows and realities of building successful businesses. Those experiences shaped her belief that behind every successful business is rarely one individual. It’s a combination of great people, trusted advice, hard work, resilience and strong relationships.

Having led award-winning commercial teams and built high-performing business communities, Rachel understands the pressures business owners face because she has spent her career alongside them. She was recognised as Regional Director of the Year for her leadership, commercial performance and ability to build exceptional teams. Colleagues regularly describe her as someone who puts people first, builds confidence, creates trusted relationships and helps others achieve more than they thought possible.

What makes Rachel different is her ability to see potential in people and opportunities before others do. Whether she’s helping a business owner find the right fractional leader, introducing future commercial partners or supporting an independent professional building a portfolio career, her focus is always the same: helping good people achieve better outcomes together.

Known for her straight-talking Yorkshire approach and genuine investment in other people’s success, Rachel combines commercial pragmatism with deep relationship-building and a sense of humour. Clients and members often describe her as a super-connector, confidence builder and trusted sounding board.
